Participation in team and individual sports not only promotes a feeling of family and belonging, but it allows students to develop themselves physically and emotionally. Students gain strength and skills and have the opportunity to develop leadership skills while learning the art of good sportsmanship and fair play.
All Kayenta Elementary students in the 3rd–5th grade may participate in Peewee Sports. Sports teams practice and play games after school from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the season. In order to participate, students must maintain a C average (or better) in all core subjects.
There is a $10.00 fee to participate. We use these fees to purchase uniforms and replace equipment. We also require permission slips and an annual physical.
School and Sports Physicals
Kayenta Elementary School will have school and sports physicals on July 24 and July 27. This is for anyone attending school or joining any sports. This will only be a PE clinic; we will address all other issues (medication refill, referrals, well-child checks, follow-ups, etc.) with a later appointment. Please see our school and sports physicals flyer for the documents you need to bring in order to have a physical.
